You’re worth it to me.
They say I don’t realize what you’re doing to me
I do, I do, and I’ll submerge myself in every moment of it
It’s selective hearing, not selective knowledge.
They say I’ve wasted precious words on you
As is the time I spend thinking about you
I say it’s well spent.
They say you don’t deserve me
Well, if you don’t then who does?
Certainly not them.
They say I can do better, don’t rush love darling
It wasn’t rushed, it came slow and steady
I could do better, but better means having you to myself.
What I’m trying to say is different than what they say
It was true then and remains true even now
I love you, you idiot.
